Education & Training in Korm Ping Pouy
The founders of Travel to Inspire have experienced first hand the fundamental role of education. They know personally how education is the way to empower children, young women and men, to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Very often, teachers in rural areas have to deal with the lack of resources, human and financial: materials are scarce and often outdated, teachers have to teach several classes and topics or they have to teach in remote areas with little support. These teaching conditions have collateral negative effects in the quality of children’s education.
The Inspire programme aims to support the teachers in the primary and secondary schools in Korm Ping Pouy in the Phnom Srok district. The project will bring support materials to enhance instruction as well as awareness of the importance to stay in school.
Through the project on education & training in Korm Ping Pouy we will:
- Install a local library with materials in Khmer and English, open to all members of the community
- Install a computer room for the primary and secondary schools
- Launch an international volunteering programme to provide English courses all year round
The facilities will be installed by the Inspire programme by means of the resources derived from Travel to Inspire and the materials will be brought in through open donations.
This infrastructure, the materials as well as the English and computing workshops will be open to all the community, with the scope to promote long-life learning. In the mid term, we aim to foster a learning culture that values education as a common practice, open to all and with a tangible economic value.
