Important Details & Our Route:

Traveling from Siem Reap to Kampot, Kep, or the Prey Chak border is a long but rewarding journey.

To Kampot: The distance is about 440-450 kilometers (around 275 miles). A private car journey usually takes 6.5 to 7.5 hours, depending on traffic and stops.
To Kep: Kep is just a short drive past Kampot. The distance is about 460-470 kilometers (around 285 miles), taking approximately 7 to 8 hours by private car.
To Prey Chak (Ha Tien) Border: This border crossing into Vietnam is near Kep. The total distance is around 480-490 kilometers (around 300 miles), with travel time of 7.5 to 8.5 hours to reach the border.

Our main route will take you from Siem Reap heading south. You’ll primarily travel on National Road 6 (NH6) towards Phnom Penh. Before reaching the center of Phnom Penh, you’ll connect to National Road 4 (NH4), which leads towards the coast. From NH4, you’ll turn onto National Road 3 (NH3), which will take you directly to Kampot and then on to Kep. To reach the Prey Chak (Ha Tien) border, you’ll continue east from Kep on National Road 33 (NH33) to the border crossing. Our experienced drivers know these roads well to ensure a safe and efficient trip.
